This post isn’t about how to restyle your white shirt, it isn’t about how to wear it in multiple ways – it’s really about thanking the humble white shirt for just “hanging” in there and coming to my rescue when I had a closet full of clothes but nothing to wear.
What’s a better way to show gratitude than showcasing the white shirt doing what it does best ; transforming your everyday fashion into some serious streetstyle.
If you’re someone who follows me on Instagram or my blog you know how I love all things vintage. From the fashion of the 50s to the music of the 60s I am an ardent vintage hoarder. For my birthday instead of wearing an LBD and looking the quintessential birthday girl, I wore what my heart lusted the most : ruffles and lace! I found the perfect dress and perfect shoes ( with ruffles of course!) and I couldn’t just stop there. I had to give it my own spin, be classic yet eccentric. That’s where the white shirt and belt comes into play. An oversized white shirt that I borrowed from my brother , well not borrowed- let’s just say what he doesn’t know, doesn’t hurt him.
Poofy on the shoulder, crisp at the front the shirt added another dimension to an already beautiful outfit. This double buckle belt is the most versatile accessory in my closet right now and I swear to you, I’ve worn it everyday since I bought it.
With the white shirt carefully tucked in, I added a big velvet bow rubber band to my awkwardly growing out hair and with that- I was at ease. At ease with myself, with how I looked and who I am.
I recently reached the “celebrity status” on Instagram by hitting the oh-you’re-so popular 10k and I couldn’t ask for more. It’s been over a year since I started blogging and I feel like somewhere between all the drama and the endless pit of clothes I found myself. I found my style and it’s made me a more confident person.
I thank each and everyone one of you, for being there for me. I genuinely feel that I have a family-online!
A big shoutout to all my photographers that I have worked with and some who I didn’t get a chance to work with. Thank you !
