What if I told you that you could get out of a bath , put your robe on with some kickass boots and look every bit stylish as the girl who spent half an hour putting an outfit together? You would jump with joy wouldn’t you. Well ladies and gentlemen, it’s true – “bathrobes are the new trench coats!”(Elle Magazine)
This funky SS17 trend just comes to show how fashion has advanced in terms of becoming utilitarian and functional, leaving behind the legacy of unmanageable and impractical outfits. The fashion world has moved into unchartered territory with this latest trend. With the duvet-as-puffer-jacket look sweeping the shops at the moment, get ahead of the curve and shop the comfiest SS17 trend: the bathrobe/dressing gown.
I did a robe related post a few months ago but decided to do another one as it’s hot on the scene and quite frankly because robes are too darn comfortable. Dress it up like I did with my previous post ( click here for post ) or go for a streetstyle look like this one.
I paired a blue bandhini blouse with the cutest cut out denims and a velvet bathrobe in mustard. This simple look is an explosion of everything that is trending at the moment. From cut out denims to loose robes the look is effortlessly chic.
The blue blouse is actually a part of a lehenga that I made using one of my mother’s old sarees. I love the fit, the colour and the style of the blouse but very seldom do I get an occasion to wear it. Teaming it up with a western outfit not only gives me a chance to wear it more often but also adds the desi touch that we all often desire.
